Police Release Image Of Vehicle Involved In Hit-And-Run That Killed Teen In North County
The 14-year-old boy's family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the hit-and-run driver.

ESCONDIDO, CA — Police on Thursday released a photograph from a surveillance camera showing what they believe is the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 14-year-old boy last month in Escondido.
The crash happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. Aug. 8 in the 1100 block of North Fig Street, according to the Escondido Police Department. A 911 caller saw the victim unconscious in the street and heard a vehicle speeding away from the scene.
The Escondido boy, who was on a skateboard when he was struck, was taken to a hospital where he later died, police said.

Police have been investigating the case, but no arrest has been made.
Traffic investigators believe the vehicle could be a newer model gray Honda Civic. It was last seen by a witness traveling south on North Fig Street.
