Incarcerated Man Walks Away From San Diego Reentry Program

SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities on Monday were searching for an incarcerated man who walked away from a reentry program in San Diego.

Michael A. Jacobson, 42, was late to return from an approved pass Sunday night from a Male Community Reentry Program, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

After Jacobson was reported missing around 9 p.m., staff initiated an emergency count that confirmed he was missing and then launched a search.

Jacobson was sentenced on April 13, 2022, to nine years in prison for first-degree burglary as a second-striker with an enhancement for a prior felony conviction. He had been housed at the San Diego reentry facility since Dec. 26, 2023.

Jacobson was described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and about 175 pounds. He is bald and has hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing dark jeans, a gray shirt with white lettering, a black baseball cap and black shoes with white trim and carrying a large black backpack.
