San Diego Comic-Con 2022: Marvel Is Simply Marvelous

Get a full list of the upcoming Marvel films and series slated for Phase 4, Phase 5 and Phase 6 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Simply, Marvel-ous! Once again, the studio took everyone’s breath away at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, while unveiling its grand plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) — and the upcoming Marvel Multiverse Saga.

The waves of excitement was palpable in Hall H as Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige took the stage to a thunderous applause.

“Wow! Wow!," said Feige to a cheering crowd. He then proceeded to reveal the last two films slated for Phase 4 this year.

“Believe it or not, Phase 4 is approaching its end when 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' premieres this August,” Feige announced. “And this November, it comes to a close with 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.'”



At the event, the Marvel trailblazer also mentioned that the first three phases of the MCU franchise are collectively known as the “The Infinity Saga,” while Phase 4, Phase 5 and Phase 6 will be collectively known as “The Multiverse Saga.”

So without further ado, here are the films and series slated for Phase 5 and Phase 6:


Full Phase 5 Slate


Marvel Films (Phase 5)


“Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” (Feb. 17, 2023)

The film kicks off Phase 5. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly reprise their title roles as Ant-Man and The Wasp, who will cross paths with Kang, the duo’s most formidable foe yet.


“Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3” (May 5, 2023)

James Gunn announced at Comic-Con that this will be the third and last standalone movie in the “Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.” Chris Pratt returns as Star-Lord. Guess what? Despite her uneventful death in the previous installment, Gamora (Zoe Saldana) is coming back as a different variant of Gamora from another dimension.


“The Marvels” (July 28, 2023)

A sequel to “Captain Marvel,” Nia DaCosta’s “The Marvels” see that Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers join forces with Imam Vellani’s Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan. The film will also explore Teyona Paris’ Monica Rambeau beyond her “WandaVision” stint.


“Blade” (Nov. 3, 2023)

Mahershala Ali plays the title character that was originated by Wesley Snipes in the 1990s. Currently, the plot is under wraps.


“Captain America: New World Order” (May 3, 2024)

Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, gets his first standalone film as the new Captain America.


“Thunderbolts” (July 26, 2024)

“Thunderbolts” concludes Phase 4. The film follows the adventures of the eponymous “Thunderbolts,” a team of antiheroes being assembled by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).


Disney+ Series (Phase 5)


“Secret Invasion” (Spring 2023)


The ninth TV series under the MCU banner explores a sect of shapeshifting aliens, the Skrulls, as they make their huge presence on Earth.


“Echo” (Summer 2023)

A spin-off from the series “Hawkeye,” the new series explores Alaqua Cox’s martial arts expert Maya Lopez.


“Loki” Season Two (Summer 2023)

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki continues his travel through time while trapped in his own crime thriller. One of the variants, Kang the Conqueror, is now free to run wild, making his way to be the super villain in “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.”


“Ironheart” (Fall 2023)

The new series explores Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams/Iron Heart, a friend of Shuri, who is T’Challa’s sister from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”


“Agatha: Coven of Chaos” (Winter 2023)

The new series explores Kathryn Hahn’s immortal witch, Agatha Harkness, from “WandaVision.”


“Daredevil: Born Again” (Spring 2024)

Charlie Cox returns as the crime-fighter vigilante Matt Murdock/Daredevil in a whopping 18-episode series, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as the super villain.


Full Phase 6 Slate (All Films)


“Fantastic Four” (Nov. 8, 2024)

It is Marvel’s version of a “Fantastic Four” movie. It’s been confirmed that John Krasinski will play the stretchy character Reed Richards. We’ll learn more about the film in the future, including the rest of the cast and crew.


“Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” (May 2, 2025)

This is a standalone movie about the multiverse super-villain Kang (Jonathan Majors), a variant first seen in “Loki.”


“Avengers: Secret Wars” (Nov. 7, 2025)

Spanning across timelines, galaxies and dimensions, “Secret Wars” is the untold story about a cosmic entity who decides to make a world filled with civil wars between superheroes and villains in a supernova way.
