San Diego Freeway Connection Closures Announced: CHP

California Highway Patrol is aiding in the closures of these connectors, on Route 163, Route 52, the 805 and others.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Drivers, be advised, nighttime driving through San Diego could cause headaches, so plan your routes accordingly. Several freeway connectors in San Diego will experience nightly closures this week, the California Highway Patrol announced.

Starting at 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through Thursday, the northbound state Route 163 connector to westbound state Route 52 will be closed, according to the CHP.

Drivers should avoid the area by continuing north on SR- 163, exiting Kearny Villa Road, turning left and continuing on southbound SR- 163 then heading to the eastbound or westbound SR-52 connector, the CHP advised.

The following connectors will also be closed during the same time:

-- westbound State Route 54 to southbound Interstate 805;
-- westbound SR-54 to northbound I-805;
-- northbound I-805 to westbound SR-54 and;
-- southbound I-805 to westbound SR-54.
