SD Airport Sees 100+ Delays Amid Runway Work
Officials did not immediately say how long the delays are expected to continue, but travelers are advised to monitor their flight status.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Travelers flying into San Diego International Airport on Friday faced widespread delays as construction work on the runway and taxiways slowed operations, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and flight-tracking website FlightAware.
Arriving domestic flights were affected, with average delays hovering around 50 minutes by midday. The FAA cited ongoing construction activity as the cause of the congestion, which has reduced the airport’s arrival capacity.
Officials did not immediately say how long the delays are expected to continue, but travelers are advised to monitor their flight status and allow extra time for disruptions.
