SDG&E Customers To Get $78 Break On Bill In October
The program, administered by the California Public Utilities Commission, is part of the state's effort to fight climate change.
SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego Gas & Electric customers will get a break on their energy bill in October.
Residential customers will receive a $78.22 credit on their electric bill, thanks to the California Climate Credit program. The program, administered by the California Public Utilities Commission, is part of the state's effort to fight climate change.
"We appreciate working collaboratively with the California Public Utilities Commission to distribute the Climate Credit and offer some financial relief to our customers," said Dana Golan, SDG&E vice president of customer services. "Anyone struggling to pay their bill is encouraged to reach out to us. We're here to help connect them with financial assistance programs."

In April, SDG&E customers received their first credit for electric service. Customers also received a $58.98 credit for natural gas. The three credit installments total more than $200 in bill credits this year, according to the utility.
The credits come from the state's Cap-and-Trade Program that "requires polluters to pay for climate pollution," according to SDG&E. Credits are distributed in April and October each year.

Billing cycles vary for customers, so not everyone will see the bill credit at the same time in October.
