Second Arrest Made In Double-Fatal Grantville Gang Shootout
Jacarre Easter, 23, was taken into custody in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, according to the San Diego Police Department.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A second suspect has been arrested in a gang-related shootout that killed two men during a party at a Grantville-area apartment complex, authorities said Wednesday.
Jacarre Easter, 23, was taken into custody Tuesday in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, according to the San Diego Police Department.
"Detectives are coordinating with (prosecutors) to extradite Easter back to San Diego," SDPD Lt. Jud Campbell said Wednesday.

Easter allegedly took part in a fracas that broke out on the evening of March 1 during a confrontation among rival gang members near a pool area at a residential complex in the 4500 block of Alvarado Canyon Road, just north of Interstate 8 and east of Fairmount Avenue.
The fight escalated into an exchange of gunfire that mortally injured San Diego resident Joseph Taylor, 31, and 24-year-old Lavion Estridge, who worked as a security guard at the complex.

Paramedics took the victims to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Four days later, police arrested probationer Charles Patrick Burke Jr., 31, at a Rancho Bernardo gas station in connection with the deadly shootout. Burke, who pleaded not guilty last week to murder charges, is believed to have been one of at least three people who opened fire during the gang showdown, according to police.
"These details will still have to be confirmed through comprehensive evaluation of the physical evidence," Campbell said.
Police have not publicly identified any other suspects in the case.
