SAN DIEGO, CA — A paint spill prompted a SigAlert Thursday morning in San Diego.

The southbound Interstate 5 connector to eastbound Interstate 8 near Old Town was closed Thursday morning in connection with a paint spill reported Wednesday, according to Caltrans.

The paint spill was first reported around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol's incident log.

The ramp was expected to remain closed until about noon Thursday for clean-up efforts, Caltrans said.

A SigAlert was issued for the area. Traffic was being diverted to Rosecrans.
