SigAlert: Trash Truck Spill Causes San Diego Traffic Headache
Commuters are advised to expect delays in Downtown San Diego.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A trash truck spilled refuse across State Route 163 Monday morning, triggering a SigAlert and backing up traffic for miles in the downtown San Diego area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP, Downtown traffic is extremely congested on the northbound side of the freeway just south of Washington Street. The CHP issued a SigAlert at 11:35 a.m. The number 2 lane remains shut down, and cleanup work was expected to take about two hours due to the large amount of refuse scattered in the lanes.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area or find alternate routes.
