Southwest Flights Delayed Tuesday At San Diego Int'l Airport
Multiple inbound and outbound Southwest Airlines flights were delayed Tuesday while the airline experienced a glitch.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Southwest Airlines halted flights at airports across the nation, resulting in 100 flights delayed at San Diego International Airport, according to flight tracking data by flightaware.
Southwest Airlines travelers in San Diego experienced morning flight delays during the pause in flight activity but disruptions were expected to improve throughout the day.
At San Diego International Airport, no flights were canceled Tuesday. However, most of Southwest Airline's flights — both arrivals and departures — were listed as delayed throughout the day.

Southwest Airlines announced they were experiencing "data connection issues resulting from a firewall failure." Those issues were expected to be resolved by midday, a spokesperson for the airline said.

"Early this morning, a vendor-supplied firewall went down and connection to some operational data was unexpectedly lost," a spokesperson for the airline reported in a prepared statement. "Southwest Teams worked quickly to minimize flight disruptions."
Southwest travelers were advised to do their diligence before heading to the airport.
"We ask that travelers use Southwest.com to check flight status or visit a Southwest Airlines Customer Service Agent at the airport for assistance with travel needs," they reported. "We appreciate the patience of our Customers and Employees during this morning's brief disruption."
