6 Charged In Drug Sales In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Six people have been charged in connection with suspected drug dealing in San Francisco's Civic Center, Mission, Tenderloin and South of Market neighborhoods, prosectors said.

Several were accused of possessing firearms at the time of their arrests, including semi-automatic handguns and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun.

Some defendants were alleged to have committed their most recent crimes while free on their own recognizance in pending cases, on mandatory supervision, or both, according to the district attorney's office.
One suspect, Jexcer Jose Martinez-Torres, was arrested July 10 on Fell Street and Van Ness Avenue after allegedly selling 1.7 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover police officer for $20 in marked money.

Police found him carrying a further $649, prosecutors said, along with 37.8 grams of methamphetamine, 33 grams of fentanyl, and 0.3 grams of cocaine salt. Martinez-Torres was already facing four cases of felony narcotics sales, the District Attorney's Office said.
Another defendant, Darius Butler, was taken into custody the same day near Sixth Street and Market Street, after 1.5 grams of methamphetamine was allegedly sold to an undercover police officer.
Upon his arrest, police allegedly found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol in his waistband and 8.6 grams of methamphetamine.
A judge released Butler on his own recognizance over the prosecutor's objection, the DA said.
