Hundreds Of Flights Delayed At San Francisco International Airport
Flights in and out of the airport are expected to be delayed by an average of 98 minutes, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Hundreds of flights in and out of San Francisco International Airport (SFO) have been delayed due to high winds, according to an alert by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Flights are being delayed by an average of 98 minutes, according to the alert. The maximum delay is expected to last just over three hours.
At least 366 flights have been delayed into or out of SFO, according to Flight Aware, an aviation technology company that tracks flight data. Four flights have also been canceled.

Wind speeds at SFO have fluctuated throughout Wednesday, reaching a high of 18 miles per hour around 11:05 a.m. It dropped around 2:10 p.m. to around 7 miles per hour, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
At least 25 flights in or out of nearby Oakland Airport have been delayed today, although it's unclear whether those delays have anything to do with the weather. No alert has been issued for that airport.
