The public was asked to avoid 16th and Mission streets Saturday morning.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- San Francisco police on Saturday asked the public to avoid 16 and Mission streets as they investigated a suspicious package.
The incident was reported around 9 a.m. and prompted the closure of the nearby BART station, according to KNTV.
