The West Marin Little League will hold a parade this weekend in downtown Fairfax to commemorate Opening Day.

FAIRFAX, CA — Fairfax is readying to inaugurate a new youth baseball season with an annual tradition.

The West Marin Little League will hold a parade this weekend in downtown Fairfax to commemorate Opening Day.

The parade will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

The parade is scheduled to start at the Fairfax Post Office and concludes at Central Field, where an Opening Day ceremony will be held.

The ceremony will feature music, food. WMLL swag will also be available for sale.

The parade route is planned to be held along Broadway Boulevard, town officials said.

Parents are not permitted to walk the parade route with players.

The ceremony will be followed by a slate of games scheduled for Central Field and several other locations.

The Central Snack Shack will be open all day for the event.

“Our Opening Day Parade is a long-standing WMLL tradition and a terrific way to kick off the season!” league officials said in a statement announcing the event.

“Come join us for what promises to be a fantastic day of community and baseball in West Marin!”
