Loaded Shotgun Seized In Marin Traffic Stop: Cops

A routine traffic stop led to the suspect's arrest after several weapons were found in their vehicle, authorities said.

MILL VALLEY, CA — A routine Tuesday night traffic stop in Mill Valley led to the arrest of a suspect on weapons charges and the seizure of a loaded shotgun, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.

The suspect, identified as the driver of a red Ford Explorer, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm in public, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a billy club, among other crimes, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A deputy at around 10 p.m. pulled over the vehicle for code violations in the 500 block of Redwood Highway Frontage Road and noticed a billy club in plain view while speaking with the driver, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded, unregistered shotgun and a stun gun in addition to the billy club, the Sheriff’s Office said.
