Marin Pilot Project Paused For Traffic Study
The Point San Pedro Road Roadway Modification Pilot Project in on hold until a traffic study is completed in late June.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — A Marin construction project that was expected to begin this month is on hold.
The Point San Pedro Road Roadway Modification Pilot Project has been postponed until a study that will help county officials explore new options is completed.
The project is a collaboration between Marin County Department of Public Works and the city of San Rafael that would have temporarily restriped a section of Point San Pedro Road near Bayside Park in eastern San Rafael to test an alternative lane layout.

A parking study expected to complete by the end of June will assess “will help inform next steps and define options,” county officials said Monday.
“Plans for Point San Pedro Road will continue to be a collaborative decision-making process between the County, the City of San Rafael, and the affected community,” county officials said in a statement.

“Marin County Supervisor Damon Connolly, who represents residents along Point San Pedro Road and the surrounding area, plans to hold a community meeting to provide an update on the progress of the project when additional information is available.”
