San Domenico Captures State Girls Basketball Title

SACRAMENTO, CA — San Domenico High girls’ basketball team defeated Shalhevet of Los Angeles 38-27 Friday in the CIF Division 5 state championship game at Golden 1 Center.

Sophomore guard Lily Reeser scored 12 points as the Panthers of San Anselmo (24-11) won their first state championship in program history.

Shalhevet (23-6) was led by senior Talia Tizabi, who scored nine points.

The Panthers struggled offensively early on and trailed 7-4 after the first quarter and 14-11 at halftime.

San Domenico scored 13 in a decisive third quarter to take a 24-21 lead and broke the game open in the fourth, outscoring their opponent 14-6.
