MILL VALLEY, CA — Just more than two weeks into the season, Tamalpais High’s boys soccer team is readying for a pivotal Marin County Athletic League showdown against Redwood involving two unbeaten teams.

The Red-tailed Hawks (3-0-1) are scheduled to play at Redwood (4-0-1, 3-0 MCAL) Saturday at 11 a.m.

Tamalpais and Redwood are among three unbeaten MCAL teams going into Thursday. Archie Williams (3-0-1) is the other.

The Red-tailed Hawks played Archie Williams to a 3-3 tie in their most recent game on Saturday.

Tamalpais is led by Schuyler Hoeberichts, a senior midfielder who has three goals and three assists through four games.

The Giants are led by senior Dave Mazariegos, who has three goals and three assists through five games.

Junior Owen Swenson has scored three goals and has two assists, and Matt Jessen and Ben Tabak each have two goals.

The two teams figure to be evenly matched. Their last meeting, on May 12, ended in a 2-2 deadlock.
