EAST BAY, Calif. — The Regional Sideshow Enforcement Task Force (R.E.S.E.T.) conducted a major crackdown on illegal sideshows in the East Bay on February 15, leading to multiple arrests and vehicle impoundments.

The operation, a collaboration between the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and local law enforcement agencies, aimed to suppress reckless driving activities that endanger public safety.

R.E.S.E.T., which includes CHP - Golden Gate Division Air Operations, CHP - Oakland, CHP - Hayward, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, and the San Leandro Police Department, deployed both ground and aerial units to track and apprehend offenders.

Helicopter units from CHP-H30 and Alameda County Sheriff’s ALCO 1 provided aerial support, assisting in multiple pursuits that resulted in the successful capture of all suspects involved.

Enforcement actions led to several vehicle impoundments, the recovery of multiple stolen vehicles, and arrests for DUI, reckless driving, and felony evasion:
