OAKLAND, CA — California Highway Patrol officials said a man's body was found by a construction worker this morning off an Interstate Highway 880 on-ramp just south of downtown Oakland.
The body was first reported to the CHP at 8:55 a.m. just off the right side of the Oak Street on-ramp to southbound Highway 880, CHP officials said.
Oakland firefighters and Alameda County coroner's officials responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected and it does not appear a collision with a vehicle caused the man's death.
