Cat Killed As Fire Damages San Leandro Home

Eight people were displaced by the fire.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — A family's cat was killed in a San Leandro fire early Monday morning. The five adults and three children who lived in the home were able to escape.

The fire started in the garage and quickly spread to the home on 135th Street.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the flames.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the family.

No injuries were reported.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
