Date Set For Master Gardeners Plant Sale
It's timed so that you can take your treasures home and put them straight into the ground.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — This is the time of year when gardeners are itching to plant summer vegetables and flowers, but we should all take a look at the date of the UC Master Gardeners of Alameda County's Annual Plant Sale — May 3rd.
The weather will be consistently warm by then with mild nights, perfect for gardening.
The catalog of available plants is extensive. There are multiple varieties of most vegetables, especially tomatoes. The veggie list includes beans, collards, cucumbers, eggplant, leafy greens, okra, peppers, squash, and tomatoes. Herbs and flowers will also be offered, to a lesser extent.

The plants are priced at $4 each.
The plant sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 3, at The Center at 2850 West St., Oakland.

Proceeds from the plant sale support the public education programs of the UC Master Gardeners of Alameda County to promote home horticulture, pest management, and sustainable landscaping.
