Jayne Williams To Take Legal Hot Seat in Troubled District

San Leandro's former city attorney will become interim general counsel of Mount Diablo Unified School District which fired its former top legal officer and administrator.

 

Former San Leandro City Attorney Jayne Williams will become interim general counsel of the Mount Diablo Unified School District the Contra Costa Times reports

The District recently terminated the contracts of former General Counsel Greg Rolen and Superintendent Steven Lawrence.

These actions came after the CC Times revealed that Rolen had played a role in awarding $100,000 in contracts to a woman with whom he was romantically involved without disclosing that involvement.

Williams was San Leandro City Attorney for 9 years until she swapped roles last month with her former assistant, Richard Pio Roda, and became his deputy.

Williams was under contract to San Leandro throughout her tenure.

She is ultimated part of Meyers Nave, a law firm in Oakland whose attorneys work under contract with local agencies throughout the area.
