Local Artists, Businesses Sought For San Leandro Makers Market

Community organizers are looking for local makers, artists and handmade businesses to join the Makers Market in September. What to know.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Local artists, makers and small handmade businesses of San Leandro have been invited to join the upcoming Makers Market, planned for Sept. 17.

The free, family friendly market is set to take place in the downtown area from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will include live music, a cash prize scavenger hunt, local food vendors and a zone for children.

The market, organized by (re)Discover Downtown San Leandro, is searching for local makers to apply and showcase their goods and crafts at the festival.

"The goal of the market is to showcase the diverse artists and makers of San Leandro and the Bay Area and foster a family-friendly experience for people of all ages," according to a release from the city.

Applications will be open until Aug. 25. Applicants that are accepted will have to pay a $125 fee to reserve a booth. Mass produced goods will not be accepted.
