Pea-Sized Hail Driven By 55 MPH Wind; See Peak Wind Gusts
The East Bay and San Mateo County were in the path of the hail band. More than a dozen sites topped hurricane-force winds.

BAY AREA — Hurricane-force wind gusts have been recorded at more than a dozen locations across the Bay Area over the past 12 hours, the National Weather Service reports. Some residents of the East Bay and Peninsula were also in the path of pea-sized hail driven by winds up to 55 miles per hours.

The highest wind gust was recorded at Funt Ranch, at 88 mph.
Mt. Umunhum in Santa Clara County had a peak gust of 81.
Mt. Diablo, in the East Bay, was 75, still above the threshold of 72 mph to be considered hurricane-force.
