Who else has planted their vegetable garden for the summer?

5 tomato plants in cages, in San Leandro, Calif.
5 tomato plants in cages, in San Leandro, Calif. (Miyo Burnett)

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Master Gardener Miyo Burnett sunk five tomato plants, all different varities, into the ground on Monday. Here's her narration on the plants —

2 to the far left of this bed gift starts from 2 Master Gardener friends;

* Wood's Famous Brimmer Tomato (Red XL)
* Rebel Starfighter Prime (Dark Red Cherry)

2 in the middle starts from a local Nursery:
* Mortgage Lifter (Red, Large)
* Cherokee Purple (as in its name, Purple Large)

1 on the right start from local Realtor (a tradition here...)
* Unidetified, but this is usually an Early Girl (Red often on shorter but husky plant, Good Size)

Thank you for sharing your photo. We look forward to seeing your garden progress, Miyo.
