Police Stop Ski Mask-Wearing Pair, Both Arrested

Police say they seized weapons, burglary tools, drugs and drug paraphernalia during the arrests, including a convicted felon.

HAYWARD, CA — Two people including, a convicted felon, were arrested at at Hayward Regional Shoreline on Thursday on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, according to the East Bay Regional Park District Police Department.

An officer stopped a vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. when he spotted two people wearing ski masks as beanies. Each person was also wearing black gloves.

The officer discovered that the man driving the vehicle was a convicted felon. He tried to conceal a methamphetamine pipe as the officer approached, according to police.

"During a probable cause search of the suspects and vehicle, 7.7 grams of methamphetamine and another pipe was located," police said. "Burglary tools and a loaded Smith and Wesson SD 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number was also located."

The driver was booked into Santa Rita Jail. The passenger, a female suspect, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
