Candidates for council’s District 1 include David L. Anderson, Sr., Kenneth Pon and Celina Reynes.
District 5 candidates include Monique Tate and Xouhoa Bowen.
Incumbent Victor Aguilar was the only candidate to submit nomination paperwork in District 3 but his name will still appear on the ballot and residents of that district will still be able to cast a vote, acting City Clerk Kelly Clancy said.
According to Clancy, should Azevedo be elected to the position of mayor, the District 2 seat would then be vacant.
"Council can appoint a person to that seat to finish the term," she said.
