SAN LEANDRO, CA — The Alameda County Fire Department welcomed about 65 preschool and kindergarten students from Jefferson Elementary School to Station 12 on April 23 for a fun and educational visit focused on fire safety.

The young students got an up-close look at fire trucks, engines, and firefighting equipment while learning important emergency safety tips from firefighters. The tour aimed to introduce fire safety concepts in an engaging way, encouraging the children to be aware and prepared for emergencies.

“We loved seeing their excitement and sharing lessons that could one day help save a life,” the fire department said in a statement.

Fire officials emphasized that teaching safety early can make a big difference in developing lifelong safety habits.

The event was part of the department’s ongoing community outreach to educate young residents about fire prevention and emergency preparedness.
