San Leandro Man Charged In Deadly Shooting

SAN LEANDRO, CA — The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has filed murder and attempted murder charges against Leo Deshon Evans, 44, in connection with a fatal shooting outside a San Leandro liquor store on Feb. 9, 2024.

The incident led to the death of Jennifer Kelly Jordan, 41, and serious injuries to a male victim.

Evans was arrested in Oakland on Oct. 30. His arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 19 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse, where he faces up to 40 years to life if convicted.

"This incident illustrates the need to get guns off our streets," said Price, pledging to seek justice for the victims.
