SAN LEANDRO, CA — The San Leandro Unified School District is asking for donations for their shoe drive to support students, school officials shared Friday.
The 11th annual “#NewShoesForSchool Drive” — currently underway — is a community-wide effort that raises funds to take San Leandro Unified students shopping for new shoes. Community members have until this Friday to donate.
The “New Shoes” drive, founded and organized by former San Leandro City Council Member Lee Thomas, specifically supports youth in-need from kindergarten through 12th grade.
