San Leandro Police Arrest Retail Theft Suspect, Recover Merchandise

The effort involved officers from multiple agencies.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — San Leandro Police arrested one person and recovered merchandise worth $1600 that was stolen from an Old Navy store in Alameda, according to the Alameda Police Department.

The arrest and recovery was a collaborative effort between SLPD, APD and the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Air Support Team.

The items were stolen from the Old Navy at South Shore Shopping Center. The store’s loss prevention team got the ball rolling by providing APD with valuable intelligence about the theft.

Investigators determined that the suspect and the stolen items were in San Leandro. SLPD Officers were able to take the suspect into custody.
