Silver Alert Canceled: Missing Senior Found 5 Days After Disappearance
The missing woman was found 20 miles from her home.
SAN LEANDRO, CA — Hongwei Yan, reported missing from her San Leandro home, was found safe Wednesday night in Richmond and reunited with family, according to the San Leandro Police Department.
She had last been seen at 7:15 a.m. Friday near her home in the 1700 Block of Clarke Street.
San Leandro Police thanked the public for "many tips we received in the past several days. We value the public's continued partnership in enabling us to be successful in our mission."
The 68-year-old Yan suffers from mental health-related ailments and was considered at-risk.
In addition, she speaks Mandarin and might have taken Chinese currency with her when she left.
