Suspect Named in Oakland Hit-and-Run Deaths of Mother and Child
Rasenoch Allen, 27, is wanted for the fatal Oakland hit-and-run of a 6-year-old and his mother. A third person was also critically injured.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA -- A suspect is being sought in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in Oakland last Saturday.
Rasenoch Allen, 27, is wanted for the fatal hit and run of a 6 year-old child and his mother, according to Oakland Police. A third person was also critically injured during the incident, which occurred around 7:20 pm Saturday, April 13 at 26th Street and Foothill Boulevard.

The Alameda County coroner's bureau identified the two victims who died as 6-year-old Angel Garcia and his mother 30-year-old Alma Vasquez, both of Oakland. The 6-year-old's 20-year-old uncle remains in a hospital in critical condition, police said.

Officers determined that a black Mercedes-Benz two-door vehicle, allegedly driven by Allen, was heading west on Foothill Boulevard when it struck the three pedestrians crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.
The driver fled and the vehicle was later located abandoned in another part of Oakland, police said.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered by Oakland police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland for information leading to Allen's arrest.
