The closure is one of 8 planned in California, according to the company.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Walgreens permanently shuttered its store at 1456 136th Avenue in San Leandro on Jan. 31, a shutdown that eliminated 26 jobs, according to the Mercury News.
“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close eight Walgreens stores,” Walgreens stated in a WARN notice to the state Employment Development Department.
The San Leandro closure was the only one planned for the Bay Area. The other closures are in Los Angeles, Reedley, Dinuba, Whittier, Placentia, Orange and Stanton, erasing a total of 149 jobs in California.
