What is Sports Acupuncture? Why not ask the expert?

In her work with the 49ers, and other amateur and professional athletes, as a sports medicine acupuncturist, Dr Jenny will divide her time generally between one of three types of treatments.

1. Regenerative She will evaluate injuries and biomechanics. Use special orthopedic tests and palpation while assessing range of motion and movement and speed injury recovery.
2. Enhancement of Sports Performance Dr Jenny will treat many of the key players before the game to enhance their sport’s performance. The 49ers, as do all professional teams, tracks every aspect of the players speed, strength, and performance, and realize that acupuncture is a key to performance on the field.
3. Mental Emotional Wellbeing With millions of dollars riding on a single play, the mental and emotional stress is almost unimaginable. Dr Jenny is an expert in treating anxiety and other emotional issues.

Dr Jenny has treated players on all the local professional sport’s teams, as well as being the acupuncturist for St Mary’s Rugby and treating professional athletes from around the world. In spite her busy schedule, Dr Jenny still finds time to treat local weekend warriors and other orthopedic injuries.

Dr Jenny also supervises a complete Sports/ Orthopedic team of five acupuncturists at Alameda Acupuncture.
