Confirmed San Mateo Mountain Lion Sighting Triggers Advisory
What's believed to be the same animal visited the same property twice, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — Police are urging San Mateo residents to be cautious after a mountain sighting in a residential neighborhood was confirmed .
The agency over the weekend posted a photo of the big cat on its Facebook page.

Residents saw the mountain lion jump into a backyard on Dalehurst Court before leaving the neighborhood at about 10 a.m. Saturday and security camera footage captured the big cat walking around.
What’s believed to be the same animal visited the same property Thursday at 6 a.m., police said.

"Confirmed mountain lion sighting on Dalehurst Ct.," San Mateo police said on the agency's Facebook page.
"The kitty has decided it likes a specific backyard since it has visited it now twice. Once at 6am on 10/27 & again at 10am today. It was not acting aggressively, instead just strolling. Be cautious is you see this out for it’s morning walk."
