Ghost Gun, Ammo Seized In Peninsula Traffic Stop

A 25-year-old Hayward resident was arrested on unspecified charges and booked into San Mateo County Jail, police said.

BROADMOOR, CA —A Peninsula traffic stop early Sunday morning led to the arrest of a suspect on weapons charges and the recovery of an unserialized “ghost” gun and ammunition, Broadmoor police said.

A 25-year-old Hayward resident was arrested on unspecified charges and booked into San Mateo County Jail, police said.

An officer initiated the traffic stop on a suspected vehicle code violation, police said.

“The officer saw a metal clip along the driver’s beltline and the possible imprint outline of a firearm,” the agency wrote on its Facebook page.

“A search of the driver revealed he was carrying a loaded non-serialized Glock style handgun concealed in his pants. A search of the vehicle found suspected drugs and additional pistol magazines, including an illegal high-capacity magazine. “
