Mail Theft Investigation Leads To Arrest In The Bay Area: Police
A mail theft report led to officers recovering other stolen property, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — A reported mail theft investigation Thursday in San Mateo led to officers arresting a 34-year-old man who was found with burglary tools and a stolen e-bike, police said.
San Mateo Police Department officers arrested Christopher Henry, 34, of San Mateo for possession of stolen property, committing mail theft, possession of burglary tools and outstanding warrants, police said.
At around 3:23 a.m. on Thursday, SMPD officers said they received a report of a mail theft in progress on the 2100 block of Vista Del Mar.

Officers said they responded quickly and after speaking to multiple witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage confirmed the mail theft had just occurred.
Police said the suspect was last seen traveling eastbound on a bicycle toward Mariners Island Boulevard.

Officers said they found Henry near Wharfside Road and Mariners Island Boulevard.
Henry matched the description of the suspect and was found in possession of a stolen e-bike and burglary tools was found inside his duffel bag, police said.
Henry was additionally arrested for possession of burglary tools and for two outstanding local warrants, police said. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail, police said.
The stolen e-bike was returned to the San Bruno Police Department.
