Man Gets 10-Year Prison Sentence For Cyberstalking San Mateo Girl
The man admitted to manipulating a 15-year-old girl into sending him images and videos of her engaged in sexually explicit activities.
SAN MATEO, CA — A New Jersey man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of distributing child pornography and cyberstalking a 15-year-old San Mateo girl.
Barry David Goldberg, 57, who pleaded guilty to both charges in January, admitted to posing as a minor to the girl and manipulating her into sending him images and videos of her engaged in sexually explicit activities. Goldberg then threatened the girl and her parents that he would post the images and videos on social media.
Goldberg admitted that he intended to “injure, harass and intimidate the minor victim and that he knew his conduct would cause substantial emotional distress,” according to prosecutors. He also created multiple Snapchat accounts and befriended the girl’s friends before posting sexually explicit photos and videos of the victim.
