Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club Holds Spring Art Show

The Mid-Peninsula Boys & Girls Club held their second annual Spring Art Show on Tuesday with works of art presented by more than 50 Club members.
Paintings, sculptures and an assortment of other original work including jewelry and curios were on display as guests mingled with artists and staff.

Representatives from Art in Action, City Arts of San Mateo, San Mateo Lions, civic leaders and art aficionados were all impressed with the degree of talent on display.
It was clear that the Club’s Arts Programs are worthy of support and deserve the recognition that this event produces.

With the evening music provided by a Club member, show stopping pieces included a 4’x8’ recycled bottle cap mosaic of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”; multimedia presentation of Julia Chicago’s “Dinner Party”; a body cast sculpture using shipping tape; and a dress made of recycled plastic bags adorned with a Club member’s handmade necklace.
