Mountain Lion Spotted Near Park in San Carlos
The carnivorous cat sighting was reported Wednesday night.

San Mateo County authorities are investigating a report of a mountain lion sighting near San Carlos' Arguello Park on Wednesday night.
The cat was spotted at about 9:30 p.m. in the area of Wellington Drive and Shelford Avenue, according to the county Office of Emergency Services.
In the event of a mountain lion encounter, residents are advised to face the animal, make noise and try to appear larger, and throw rocks or other objects at the animal.
