Person Hit, Killed On Highway 101 Identified

The deadly wreck happened last weekend.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A pedestrian struck and killed on U.S. Highway 101 in South San Francisco last weekend has been identified by the San Mateo County coroner's office as 45-year-old David DeJesus, a resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

DeJesus was walking in the center divider on northbound Highway 101 just north of Grand Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday when at least one vehicle struck him, according to the California Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of at least one car that hit DeJesus stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators, CHP officials said.
