Road Work on El Camino to Last Another Week
Expect delays on El Camino Real at night stretching from Menlo Park all the way to Millbrae.
Caltrans is repaving portions of El Camino Real at night this week, closing lanes of the road in Atherton to do so.
Road crews are also restriping the road where it intersects with Encinal Avenue between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
“The lane closures will enable construction crews to grind, pave, and stripe this section as part of the Route 82 Signal Improvement Project that spans from Cambridge Avenue in Menlo Park to Millbrae Avenue in Millbrae,” said Caltrans spokesperson Gidget Navarro.
During the closures, one lane will remain open in each direction. However, transportation officials advise drivers to take alternate routes to avoid frustration.
Crews will simultaneously work on El Camino Real at Whipple Road in Redwood City, as well as 31st Avenue in San Mateo.
The work will continue through June 30, 2012.
