San Mateo County Author Releases Third Children’s Book
This is the third book based on bedtime stories the author used to tell his daughter.
SAN MATEO, CA — A local San Mateo resident and businessman announced the third children’s book he’s authored will be released May 6.
“Ellie’s Dancing Shoes,” was written by Scott Sollers and is the third book in the “Stephanie’s Stories” series, which are all based on bedtime stories Sollers used to tell his daughter Stephanie.
The book was illustrated by Bryan Janky and is about a young girl, Ellie, who dreams of becoming a ballerina until she misplaces her magical dancing shoes. Her confidence and graceful moves disappear, and she must find her shoes in time for a big audition or learn to dance without them.

He started handwriting and illustrating these tales when his daughter was young and would read them to her at bedtime.
His first two books were “A Tall Tale: How the Ostriches Got Their Long Necks and Long Legs,” about two rival communities — the Have-Alls and the No-Haves — living in valleys separated by a ridge, and “Adventures at Lake Omigosh,” which is about two friends who go to a New Hampshire sleepaway camp and are stranded in the middle of the lake possibly containing a mysterious creature after their canoe flips over.
