San Mateo County Libraries To Expand To Seven Day A Week Schedule
Most locations will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County libraries are returning to a seven day a week schedule beginning Sunday.
Most locations will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.
The libraries that are switching hours are: Belmont, Brisbane, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Millbrae, North Fair Oaks, Pacifica Sharp Park, San Carlos and Woodside. Atherton will follow the same schedule when the new library is opened this spring.

“This is an exciting next step for our libraries to bring even more transformative experiences and boundless opportunities to those we serve in the County,” said Reuben Holober, the Library JPA Governing Board Chair and a Millbrae councilmember. “Our libraries have provided exceptional resources and unwavering support during these challenging times, and I look forward to seeing the innovative, community centered impact they will continue to bring to 2022.”
The expanded hours will allow for more in-person opportunities for those seeking resources and internet access, according to a news release.

“We know how much extended hours mean to someone in need of access to resources after the school and workday and how excited our families are to return to their routine of a Sunday visit to the library,” San Mateo County Libraries Director Anne-Marie Despain said. “We are thrilled to welcome even more of our community back and respond to the need for greater access to our libraries.”
