San Mateo Doctor Serves As Rep. Speier's Guest For State Of Union

SAN MATEO, CA — Dr. Grace Hassid, an infection control officer at San Mateo Medical Center, served as a virtual guest of Rep. Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco) at Tuesday night’s State of the Union Address.
Hassid “made all the hard calls” as the hospital dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Speier. She represented the local healthcare workers of Speier’s district.
“Her commitment is unwavering and her critical decision-making has saved countless lives,” Speier said.

Hassid wrote in a Facebook post that he was “very humbled by the request.”
“I thank her for her never ending support of our San Mateo Medical Center and the good that happens there every day,” Hassid said.
