While the suspects were fleeing they threw a gun from the stolen car, which police said they later found and learned it had been stolen out of Las Vegas.

Also in the car were numerous burglary tools, police said.
Officers arrested Mercado and booked him into the San Mateo County Jail for possession of stolen property, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of burglary tools, destroying or concealing evidence, and obstructing or resisting a peace officer, police said.
The teen was released to a parent.
