Teen Accused In Sexual Battery Case At Peninsula School

Sheriff's officials say the 17-year-old was arrested Wednesday evening.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A 17-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly grabbing a girl's buttocks while riding a bicycle at Woodside High School on Monday evening, San Mateo County sheriff's officials said Thursday.

Deputies were notified at about 6:45 p.m. Monday about the sexual battery that occurred at the school at 199 Churchill Ave. in an unincorporated area of the county between Woodside and Redwood City.

The girl said she was walking with a friend when the suspect rode his bike between the two, slowed down and grabbed her buttocks. He then rode away and she and her friend ran in the opposite direction, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators were eventually able to identify the suspect and he was arrested Wednesday evening.

The teen, whose name is not being released, was not a student at Woodside High, sheriff's officials said.
