40 Miles Of Pavement Work Resumes In Marin County
Public Works aims to reach more than 40 miles of Marin County roads with fresh sealant by the end of the month.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — The second phase of a road-sealing project that kicked off last summer resumes this week in Mari County, targeting 40 miles of unincorporated roads for preservation. Aiming to be finished by the end of the month, officials say the $3 million project will restore approximately 10 percent of county-maintained roads.
"Preventative maintenance helps extend the lifecycle of pavement and can delay when a street needs to be repaved, avoiding expensive and disruptive rehabilitation projects," the county said Friday. "This proactive approach calls for keeping good roads in good condition, rather than having them fully deteriorate through their lifecycle."
The work is scheduled to take place at various locations between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., which will require a few lane closures and some delays. According to the county, residents and businesses along impacted routes will receive notice in advance and drivers will see signage around work zones.
